Photography
has afforded me a window on the world. At times, mine has been
a very private and solitary viewalone in a canoe on the
Qu'Appelle River at daybreak, in New York City's Central Park
in the rain before the onslaught of Sunday strollers, deep in
the bowels of Antelope Canyon, or in the sleepy town of Jerome
listening for the first diesel truck to emerge from the four-mile
switchback up Mingus Mountain.

At
other times, it has been a very busy sceneonboard a Newfoundland
longliner making ready for a five-day run at the shrimp grounds,
onsite during multi-billion-dollar mine expansions, during the
Treaty Four First Nations pow-wow, or during a media tour of a
uranium mine.
Whether
capturing the feel of the moment or the facts of the matter, a
photograph, I believe, should be evocative and meaningful.
